Where Todd Stands
On the Issues
Eastern and Rural Oregon have been well represented, and I intend to carry on that tradition to give rural Oregonians a voice in the legislature. There are a multitude of issues that need to be addressed and challenges that need to be tackled that will require experienced leadership in natural resources, economic development, and community-based issues if we are going to ensure rural Oregonians have the representation they deserve. I will be that leader and the voice we need.
Natural Resources
I’ve worked in timber, agriculture, farming and ranching my entire life – I know the issues we are facing here in Senate District 29. Our top priority needs to be protecting and strengthening our sustainable agricultural positions in farming, ranching, logging and mining while looking for additional business opportunities and economic development for the community. We must have leaders with real, firsthand experience giving all of us in the natural resource community a voice in Salem.
Education
Oregon’s kids are our future and they deserve the very best we can give them. This means fully funding education with adequate, stable, and accountable dollars, and demanding results from our education system. We need educational choice and opportunities for career technical education, trades, and post-secondary education.
Veterans
As a father of two young men who served their country, prioritizing veteran care is important to me. We must do more to provide mental health resources, financial support, and policies that honor those who have served our great country.
Our Values
Our family values, community traditions, and belief systems are under attack by the majority party leadership in Salem. Protecting your rights and advocating for our beliefs is a top priority. I am 100% pro-life, pro-Second Amendment, and pro-family values.
Jobs & Economy
Eastern Oregon is the greatest place to live and has a lot to offer. We need to encourage sustainable growth and innovation throughout our communities. And, we need to stop tax increases, hidden fees and red tape that are barriers to growth. We need to promote policy, rules, and law that support development and are business friendly to promote growth. By working together at a local and state level, and supporting our small and local businesses, we can create long-term economic strength.
Your Voice in Salem
I will fight for our values, for lower taxes, provide a forward-looking approach to managing our natural resources, and, most importantly, be a voice for us in Eastern Oregon. I want my grandchildren to have a future in this community they can look forward to and your support will help make that possible.
